Event Details

Activities
  • Zentangle & Nature Craft (DIY stations)
  • Urban farm experience with a guided walk-through (remember to bring your eco-bag for harvesting goodies from the garden!).
  • Pop-up and child-led playground (messy with recyclables and water). Lots of sensory and unstructured free play!

A great family weekend activity to learn about how our food comes from Mother Nature.

Take your kids on a journey to discover and harvest different food plants. Our aim is for parents and children to bond and learn about nature together in this permaculture garden (we are not a commercial farm).

We love seeing families coming together to discover nature’s treasures from our garden. And learning how to harvest various edible foods.

We love tasting the delicious and healthy dishes made by our awesome community of volunteers and parents. And connecting through laughter, stories, and heartfelt moments.

We love letting our inner child come alive with messy play at the popup playground. And watching adults and kids having so much fun letting their creativity unfold with just a few simple materials and toys.

Such experiences have become so rare in developed countries like Singapore where digital gadgets, unhealthy diets, and social isolation are becoming more pervasive.

We love being able to bring back the “kampong spirit” of the good old days. Where life was simpler and we didn’t need much to feel joyful.

Bring an eco-bag to take home the veggies and herbs that you and your family will harvest from our little garden.

Your contribution helps to support the:

(a) funding of the garden – soil, gravels, manpower, seeds, and garden maintenance can be costly in money and energy

(b) initiative of a messy, sensory and child-led play in this pop-up playground for the children – paint, bubbles, carton boxes and transportation, manpower (cleaning up is a chore!)

Weather

Rain or shine we will continue (unless there is lightning). Bring your child’s extra clothes, rain boots, and raincoat, we’ll just play in the water puddles if it rains.

Play is serious learning for the children (and us). It’s a wonderful chance for you to let your hair down for a few hours and reconnect with your inner child.

Your child will love playing with you too! Don’t forget to bring an extra change of clothes for yourself as well.

Testimonials

My daughter enjoys her classes here. Especially the aerial yoga. Lovely teachers. All are very helpful and responsive to my queries. Recommend!

I brought my class of 4 year olds to Mindful Space for a parent-child workshop on woodworking and the experience was wonderful! The program was organised and tailored to the needs and skills of the children. The teachers were very helpful and enthusiastically guided the children and parents during the activity. We also loved the space! It was calming and they had a beautiful garden for the children to explore.

Deciding to sign my 13-year-old up for a three-day camp with Mindful Space was on the spur of the moment. Dreading to have a naturally sedentary teen growing roots on the TV couch during the June holidays, I was intrigued when I read about Mindful Space’s programme, particularly their aerial yoga activity.

Those three days came and went, and as usual, I didn’t get a lot of information out of a teen apart from the fact that he had a lot of fun and wasn’t bothered by the large age gap with his camp mates.

Then a week later, I received a post-camp message from Mindful Space.

Oh my, it is by far, the most detailed and best post-camp review I’ve ever read. True to their business name, someone took the time and effort to mindfully communicate to me about my child and his time at the camp. Not only was the message kind and thoughtful, but it was definitely on point about what kind of person he is, and the areas in which we can continue to help him flourish.

One of the “wow” moments for my child was how he attempted and succeeded in doing a handstand. To some parents of naturally well-coordinated and active kids, this may not seem like much, but for my child, it was huge. He was so surprised and proud of himself – for trying and overcoming. From the note, I especially love how the teachers were able to identify a huge learning point for him through this activity – there was an acknowledgement of fear, followed by an acceptance of self, before embarking on the actual learning of the technique and continual practice.

In our busy, modern society, many people, including adults, get buried with the “doing” but missed out on the critical stage of “being”. Once in a while, we all need to recalibrate and reframe our mindsets so that we can be better equipped to embark on the “handstands of our lives”.

I’m also happy to report that my child’s posture has improved. When waiting for the bus recently, I noticed he was sitting upright when he would otherwise be hunched up like a little old man.

While Singapore is in no lack of children’s holiday camps, life-transforming programmes like these are rare and precious. Thank you so much, Mindful Space.

I sent my daughter and nieces for their 3 day holiday camp and they loved it! Really liked how they got to try aerial yoga, experience a positively charged environment and learn about mindfulness.

A place that is building a community of mindful parents through family activities, kids fun explorations of nature and feelings through art, sport, team building. A space that is made emotionally safe through compassion, recognition and respect for the beautiful kids souls that will be adults tomorrow.

My daughter practised aerial yoga here and both my kids look forward to attend camps here. We also asked Vernessa’s team help to organize my 8 year old party: It was a lovely day for the kids with aerial yoga and batik painting in the garden. I am very happy to support this business and this team for the extremely valuable work they are doing.

Laura Miani

Attended parent and child aerial yoga with my 4yo. She absolutely loved the experience. Great that the teaching assistant to parent-child pair ratio was almost 1:1, so it felt really safe (can’t always see how your kid is climbing above you in the hammock). Plus lots of photos and videos were taken by staff which they sent to us after, so we could just be in the moment to enjoy the class without worrying about having to capture the memories like our usual kiasu selves 😁

I have had the fortune to participate in numerous classes and events at Mindful Space. Whether it be sessions relating to becoming a more thoughtful parent or exercise classes with my kids, I have always walked away learning and doing something new.  Mindful Space is a wonderful and happy oasis for kids and parents alike, filled with inspiring people in a welcoming, clean and spacious environment.  Keep up the great work!

Beautiful and relaxing space which focuses on intimate classes. The teachers here are kind and knowledgeable. I love how they cater classes to the whole family and are inclusive of all kids. A nurturing boutique studio to learn and grow 🙂
