Sensory and Outdoor Messy Play

Creativity is messy, and we are creative! An unstructured play that allows children to be empowered and meet their sensory needs. Children often go into their flow zone as they have the freedom to make their own choices. Children who are allowed to have sensory play tend to self-regulate better.

Wet paint, flour, and shaving foams are some of the favorites as children are allowed to be as messy as they want. Extra clothes are necessary!

Art and water play area are pop-ups, and children can explore freely as they experiment with different physics, chemistry, and social elements (eg: balancing, gravity, colour mixing, and social cues).

We teach children to be resilient and make do with the weather, embracing life as it comes. If it rains (without lightning), children wear their rain boots and raincoat and play in the rain (and they absolutely love this!). Play is serious learning, it’s a necessity, not a luxury.

Can I come in to observe the session? I would like to take some photos for the birthday event.
For the drop-off session, it is intentionally designed for the children only (we have a separate family programme if you are looking for parent and child participation). Children behave differently when parents are around; they are excited to show parents what they can do and sometimes lose focus and are not in the present moment. When children are overexcited and distracted, the chances of disruptions and accidents are higher. We would like to keep your child safe in this space.
 
Take this opportunity to explore the neighbourhood for good coffee/ tea. We prioritise your children safety in class, when the situation permits we will take photos to share with you via google drive link.
 
The teachers are happy to chat after class if you’d like to know more about your child or have questions.
Our expertise is providing fun and memorable birthday activities to celebrate your child’s special birthday. Decoration, hosting, catering, food & beverage are not part of our service.
 
For events @ 28 Hongkong Street:
We only provide aerial fun activities. You have the luxury to select from a range of restaurants/cafes near the area for meals and cake cutting. The nearest restaurant is SAFRA @ 29 Carpenter Street.
 
For events @ 10 Winstedt Road:
Option 1:
The Malayan Council (TMC)
 
This Western-local fusion restaurant is located inside the premises. Please contact them directly for food and table arrangement, WhatsApp +65 9009 7345.
 
When you dine in at TMC (outside food is not allowed), you can bring in your cakes and cupcakes (halal). It makes sense that you are responsible for handling your own outside cakes and cupcakes arrangement.
 
Option 2:

Own food preparation
(only for garden / sensory & messy play party at 10 Winstedt Road)

 

To enjoy the space for cake cutting, food and decorations, venue rental rates are $200, which includes 1 hour before AND 1 hour after the event.

This is a self-service for setting up and cleaning up the space.
For extension, every additional 30 minutes is $40.

It is the parent’s responsibility to reinstate the food and decoration area to its original condition. This includes cleaning up and removing all decorations, food, and items after the event. Please throw the trash in the big black bins.

For example, the sensory and messy play activities are from 4:30 to 6 pm.
Parents can set up at 3:30 pm and clean and close the space by 7 pm.

What will be provided?
Two tables (120 x 60cm)

It’s a casual outdoor setting with greens and shelters, children usually sit around the grass, steps and floor. Please be mindful of volume as other enrichment classes are going on.

 

What do you need to bring/prepare for the garden party yourself?

✅ party food and drinks. Please receive your own food or cake deliveries. There is no storage available.
✅ table clothes (minimum two pieces, at 120 x 60cm)
✅ plates, cutleries, and cups
✅ wet wipes and napkins
✅ portable speaker for music if preferred (volume at a mindful and respectful level as there are classes in the building)
✅ groundsheets/picnic mats (according to your crowd size)
✅ birthday decorations (perhaps consider less messy decorations so you will save time on clean up!)
✅ trash bags
✅ extra tables/chairs (if needed)
✅ ice and cooler box (if needed)
✅ signage to usher the direction (suggest A4 size x 2) parents to removed after the party

 

What happens if it rains on the day of my garden / sensory & messy play party?

The outdoor event is a rain-or-shine event. An excellent opportunity to learn to accept, let go and be spontaneous with Mother Nature’s call. We teach children to flow with what comes in life and make-do with what they have; being adaptable and flexible with ambiguity is a life skill.

In the event it rains, we move into the sheltered outdoor area, or the children can play in the rain (one of the kids’ favourites).

Just bring an extra change of clothes. Play is serious learning! Children who have more free and unstructured play tend to self-regulate better.

Please note events are non-refundable or exchangeable.
