Kids get up close with real insects, including Rhinoceros Beetle grubs, and learn how to spot the tiny creatures hidden in leaves, soil, rocks, and wood that most of us walk straight past. Along the way, our bug expert guides children through identifying different insects, telling males from females, and understanding their life cycles and everyday habits. Whether your child is fearless or a little unsure, our bug expert adjusts the pace so every participant feels safe to try. Suitable for ages 4 to 15, and held at our M.A.D (Make A Difference) Garden in Newton, a permaculture garden kept free of insecticides, pesticides, and fogging, so it naturally welcomes a wonderful variety of insects and other creepy crawlies. This experience is also offered as an educational bugs session for preschools and primary schools looking for a hands on science and nature programme.
